an angry man

Blimey oh riley was I mad!
£596.53 gone from my HSBC account in an unknown transaction. Alliance and Leicester on behalf of AMEX had debited my account (bar$tools!), I’ve never dealt with either of them, what a way to spoil the homecoming. HSBC (call centre) are very unhelpful, multiple calls over multiple days eventually establish it can take up to 10 weeks (YES TEN!) to investigate AND it takes them a week of to tell me I need to sign a form to start this process (Muppets!).

I WANT MY MONEY BACK, I reason with them, I demand, I speak to supervisors, I threaten to close my accounts, they don’t budge.

I ring Amex, but they can’t understand how to deal with me – their phone scripts start with “Can I have your account number please?” I don’t have an account they don’t have a clue.

I ring Alliance and Leicester, they are no better.

£596.53 gone, TEN weeks and that’s just to complete the investigation, bloody bureaucratic banks!

I eventually get the form and send it back to them and we go out for a meal to cheer ourselves up, I pay by HSBC card. In the back of my wallet there is a receipt, it's for £596.53…

AR$E!
