favourite photo

After 31 days in africa and my camera set to bracket multiple shots, I've had my work cut out to filter and edit down thousands of photographs to just the right number to be interesting without entering the realms of boring slideshow (too late I hear you cry, or maybe I just hear you crying?).

Each picture brings a memory of a moment, it was a fantastic trip, I am not hurrying the job. The challenge though is to make each picture evoke a future memory for those that stumble across the pictures, time will tell if I get even close.

My favourite photograph (this week) is a moment to treasure. We are floating on the Chobe River (Botswana), elephants after a long dry trek rush headlong into the water mindless of the 40 strong hippo pod 10 meters away. They drink, splash and generally cavort around for 20 minutes before heading for the banks to repeat the manoeuvres in the mud holes.

This shot reminds me of the family group, the press of animals, the moment.

WARNING: The next few blogs will have an african feel to them.
